Field Journal: Baby Tortoises!

This entry is courtesy of Oatland Island Wildlife Center Staff, Audra Taylor

Babies! This week the staff at Oatland Island Wildlife Center found their first gopher tortoise hatchlings of the season. This makes two years in a row that the wild tortoises have successfully bred. We're getting quite a population, so please watch your step as you hike the beautiful trails on Oatland Island. Come across a tortoise or other wild animal during your visit?
