Volunteer Appreciation Week

The volunteers at Oatland Island Wildlife Center are incredible people who share our love of education and wildlife! We rely on the help of our volunteers and would not be here without them! The Board of Directors for Friends of Oatland Island - the fundraising arm of Oatland Island Wildlife Center - is a volunteer position, and we hope that you know that we love working for Oatland Island Wildlife Center and for you, the members and the followers who love the island as much as we do!

The volunteers at Oatland Island Wildlife Center put in hundreds of hours per year, helping guests find their way around the park, working our front desk answering phones and checking guests in, helping out with special projects like building and maintaining areas around the park, educating guests about the wildlife that live here, and helping do all of the amazingly fun things that happen during events. We could not be as successful at fulfilling our mission to bring nature and education to the people without our volunteers and we want to take a moment to ensure we thank them for all of their hard work and dedication to the island and its animals.

Want to help out? Volunteers make the world go round, and Oatland Island Wildlife Center is seeking volunteers to help out all around! There are so many areas you can volunteer in from our educational roles, welcoming people at our front desk, gardening and landscaping, special projects, and more!

And if you see a volunteer at Oatland, make sure you thank them for everything they do for us and for you! Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week!
