Oatland Island Wildlife Center is sad to announce that the Cougar Baby Shower scheduled for this Sunday, 2/27/22, will have to be postponed. Late this week, the male cougar was found to have sustained what is believed to be a minor injury to his front left leg that is causing him to limp. He is currently undergoing treatment and under strict “bed rest”. Unfortunately, this means he cannot be allowed out in the exhibit. His sister will remain with him for emotional support. While we know many people will be disappointed, it is in the best interest of the cub. We will keep everyone posted as soon as a new date for the Cougar Baby Shower is determined and when the cougars are back on exhibit. We share your disappointment and thank you for your understanding.
