Bobcat Enrichment Saturday
Saturday, April 09, 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
At Oatland we take pride in our excellent animal care, and animal enrichment is a big part of the great care we provide for our animal residents. Join us for a morning of fun where you can watch your favorite animals enjoy sensory, nutritional, and cognitive enrichment in their exhibits. This program allows you entry to Oatland Island where you'll work directly with Animal Care staff to create unique enrichment items, and then walk to the bobcat enclosure to watch them play!
$20.00 per person, for all ages. All attendees must have a ticket.
All participants must be at least 4 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a paid adult.
Family Fest
Sunday, April 10, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Enjoy the evening with some music from the Fractions and have an outdoor picnic at Oatland Island. Food trucks will be on hand, slinging up some of your dinner favorites, but you are more than welcomed to bring your own basket of goodies. Alcohol is not permitted, and the trails will not be open for this outdoor concert event.
$25 per carload / 7 person maximum
Pre-registration is required and payment is due upon invoicing for your carload to be on the list to attend.
Early Birding Walk
Saturday, April 23, 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Join an Oatland staff member for a morning bird walk before the property is open to the public. With 100 acres to explore and many habitat types, Oatland has a diversity of birds that call it home. This early walk will focus on observation and identification.
Price is $12 and includes admission to Oatland after the program ends.
Expect to walk 1-1.5 miles at a gentle pace over a 90 minute time period, this is an adult program participants must be 18 yrs or older to attend.
Yoga in the Wolf Cabin
Saturday, April 23, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Enjoy a one hour gentle yoga class led by certified yoga instructor, Sue Finkle. Move slowly between poses to strengthen and stretch muscles. During the last 15 minutes of class enjoy White Lights (deep relaxation). This hour long experience helps to leave you feeling refreshed, reconnected, and relaxed. Prior experience IS NOT necessary and one need not be flexible to take this class.
$30.00 ticket. This event is geared towards ages 18+, though participants aged 16-17 are invited to attend with a paid adult.
Class will be from 9-10am. Please plan to arrive between 8:15-8:30am. Late arrivals after 8:45am will be denied entry in order for the class to have time to walk to the wolf cabin and start on time.
Fairy & Gnome Festival
Saturday, April 30, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Join us for a day of enchantment! This family-themed festival is all about the “wee folk” getting up close with the natural world and encouraging imaginative outdoor play. Activities will include a scavenger hunt, fashion show, gem mining, fairy and gnome home building and food trucks. Bring the family and stroll through Oatland’s magical trails and maybe you will catch a glimpse of a fairy or gnome looking for a place to call home.
