Oatland Island Wildlife Center holds Grand Re-Opening

Five months after a tornado tore through Oatland Island, the Wildlife Center is officially back up and running.

They had their grand re-opening Saturday.

The Wildlife Center was packed with people for a day filled with music, activities, and animals.

There were food trucks and tons of people having a fun day with friends and family.

Admission was free and organizers said they almost had to turn people away because they were running out of places for people to park.

"This is really exciting and the turnout is just crazy tremendous! We're very very happy this is our way of showing our appreciation to the community that has supported us over the last five months," said Annie Quinting, the Wildlife Center event coordinator.

Quinting said they've been recovering from damage from different storms for the past three years. But she said they wouldn't be where they are today if it weren't for all the love and support from the community.
