American Bison have a very strong sense of smell and can even smell another animal almost 2 miles away. Enrichment items that include olfactory stimulation and gross motor movement are favorites for the bison.

About the Event
This event allows the public to see some of the special work that often goes on behind-the-scenes at Oatland. This is an opportunity to witness how the Animal Care Staff provides special treats and activities to help hone the animals’ natural behaviors. Adults and children will participate in creating enrichment material for our resident bison and will watch the bison experience their special creations.
